A former CS:GO pro, shroud is now best known on Twitch for his love of battle royale games, namely PUBG and Apex Legends.
Although he’s tried Fortnite in the past, it has never truly captivated him, perhaps because he has always had a preference for first-person shooters, over third-person.
With the excitement around the Chapter 2 launch, shroud found himself tempted to try out the new season; so did his update and jumped into some matches with fellow streamers TimTheTatman, Nate Hill and Syhmfuhny on October 18.
It didn’t take long before Grzesiek was reminded of the reasons he has previously stopped playing Epic’s BR game before, comparing it to Respawn’s Apex Legends.
“I’m not going to lie, playing this game makes Apex look three hundred times better,” shroud said, “It really makes me appreciate Apex more, so I’m kind of glad I’m playing.”
After just over three hours of playing, and without much success, shroud decided he had finally had enough.
He came up against a highly skilled builder v buck generator, and it became clear that despite his best efforts, he was simply no match for the experienced opponents who played the game more regularly.
“I can’t play this game anymore, I’m too bad,” a defeated shroud explained, “I can’t get owned any longer, it’s too hard, I’ll play it next year, next season.”
Unlike a handful of other top streamers, shroud’s viewership doesn’t expect a lot of Fortnite gameplay from him anyway, so it shouldn’t come as too much of a disappointment to most of his fans.
